The Ventures invests in vision AI smart farming company Agavita.

The Ventures (CEO Kim Chul-woo), an early-stage startup investment firm, announced on the 3rd that it had made a seed investment in AGAVITA (CEO Kim Ki-seok), a vision AI-based smart farming company.

Agavita is a company developing an AI-based, full-cycle operational system that enables stable farming of high-value-added species with minimal human resources. They are testing the applicability of their technology by selecting bluefin tuna farming, a highly industrialized fishery, as their first project.

This investment will be used to build demonstration farm facilities, enhance vision AI-based measurement and behavior prediction models, research smart aquaculture data standardization, and prepare for expansion into advanced aquaculture markets like Japan and Australia. Agavita plans to secure global demonstration cases and promote national consortium collaboration and industry standards.

The Ventures CEO Kim Chul-woo said, “Agavita is a team that has implemented the measurement and operation systems necessary for the farming of high-value-added species such as bluefin tuna using technology,” and added, “Their integrated operation system throughout the entire cycle is a rare structure even globally, making them sufficiently competitive.”

Agavita CEO Kim Ki-seok said, “Non-contact measurement technology is a key technology for structural change in the aquaculture industry,” and added, “We will expand smart aquaculture technology to global standards based on the full-cycle operating system.”
