Telepix, a comprehensive space AI solution company, announced on the 5th that it was selected as one of the '100 Defense Innovation Companies' in 2025 in recognition of its innovative artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The "Defense Industry Innovation 100" program, hosted by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), selects and fosters innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on emerging defense industries such as space, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, robotics, and drones. A total of 21 companies were selected for 2025 through a comprehensive evaluation of their management capabilities, technological capabilities, defense applicability, business performance potential, and technological challenge and innovation.
Selected companies will receive up to 5 billion won in technology development grants over five years, as well as support for technological innovation and commercialization, including export support consulting.
Telepix was selected in the AI category for its "Satellite Imagery and Multimodal Data Analysis AI Chatbot System (SatCHAT) for Defense Decision Support." This technology, an AI-based decision-making system that enables military intelligence analysts and image interpretation personnel to query, search, and analyze vast amounts of data in real time from a single interface, is based on Telepix's satellite-specific agentic AI, "SatCHAT."
Through this project, Telepix plans to develop a "real-world battlefield AI system" that advances satellite imagery and multimodal data analysis automation technologies. This will overcome the limitations of existing manual analysis and enhance the immediacy and clarity of command and decision-making. The goal is to apply AI-based multimodal analysis and multi-agent orchestration technologies to integrate and analyze complex data, including satellite imagery, audio, images, and text, thereby enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of military data interpretation and analysis.
The "multi-agent orchestration" technology, in particular, involves multiple AI agents dividing roles and collaboratively solving problems. This cutting-edge technology, currently underresearched, is a cutting-edge area. Having secured commercial-grade technology, Telepix launched "SatCHAT," a satellite-specific agentic AI, last year and is currently supplying solutions based on this technology to domestic satellite operators.
Cho Sung-ik, CEO of Telefix, said, “This is a recognition of our satellite information-utilizing AI agent technology and its applicability to defense systems,” and added, “As we have technological competitiveness in all three areas of AI, aerospace, and defense, we will lead the advancement of advanced defense technologies and expansion into the civilian and global markets, and leap forward as a comprehensive space AI solution company.”
