Hodoo Labs Secures Investment from Bluepoint

Edtech company Hodoo Labs announced on the 10th that it has secured investment from deep tech accelerator Bluepoint Partners as it expands into the AI voice agent business. The company's value and investment amount were not disclosed.

Hodoo Labs' core technology, "Ello," is a solution that provides real-time AI conversations using only voice, without app installation, membership registration, or internet connection, based on existing telephone networks. Companies can build AI voice services simply by integrating with APIs, and users can access a variety of functions, including guidance, Q&A, reservations, and reminders, all from their regular phones. The company has trained over 500 million voice data points to implement ultra-low-latency conversation technology, which features natural turn-taking.

In the public sector, the "AI Senior Citizen Safety Talk" service was first implemented in Jungnang-gu, Seoul. This service provides information on daily life and welfare through regular phone calls three times a week, and immediately notifies the relevant department in the event of an abnormality.

Lee In-seong, a senior analyst at Bluepoint who was in charge of this investment, said, “Not only is the technological prowess impressive, but the team’s ability to lead large-scale businesses is also impressive,” and “They are implementing AI services that anyone can easily use, such as phone-based silver care.”

Kim Min-woo, CEO of Hodoo Labs, said, “We will provide AI experiences that are accessible to more users through the most common channel, the phone,” and added, “We will use the investment funds to focus on technological advancement and market expansion, and we will continue to expand partnerships with various fields.”
