DeepX , an ultra-low-power on-device AI semiconductor company, announced that it has signed an EMEA regional partnership with Avnet Silica, the EMEA division of global semiconductor solutions company Avnet and a European embedded and AI semiconductor distributor. Through this, DeepX will fully expand the supply and technical support system for ultra-high-efficiency edge AI semiconductors across Europe.
Avnet Silica is the semiconductor division of NASDAQ-listed, Fortune 500 company Avnet, with a global supply chain and system design support capabilities spanning over 140 countries. In Europe, it is a key partner in the industrial automation, automotive, and smart manufacturing sectors.
Recently, European industrial sites, including manufacturing, logistics, robotics, and smart cities, require edge AI solutions that simultaneously meet real-time AI processing and power efficiency. Given the region's high energy costs, ultra-low power consumption, low heat generation, and high stability are considered key requirements for technology adoption.
DeepX's NPU offers up to 20 times higher power efficiency than GPUs for the same performance, and can be scaled from small IoT devices to industrial servers with a single architecture. In benchmark tests, the DX-M1 recorded 2.93ms latency and 652 frames per second in a single stream, and 356 frames per second (FPS/W) per watt in a multi-stream environment, showing higher efficiency than competitors. It also demonstrated its applicability to industrial environments, operating without performance degradation even in extreme temperatures from -25°C to 85°C.
Avnet Silica has selected DeepX as a strategic partner, valuing its performance and reliability. The two companies plan to expand their customer support system, focusing on DeepX NPU-based solutions for European industrial automation, robotics, mobility, and smart city projects.
DeepX stated, “Europe is a region where the transition to on-device AI is progressing rapidly, and Avnet Silica’s extensive supply chain and technical support will play a crucial role in the diffusion of DeepX technology,” adding, “This collaboration is an important starting point for universal implementation of ultra-low-power AI across industries and various devices.”
