Music Cow Selected as Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation's 2025 Best Customer

Music investment platform Music Cow (CEO) announced on the 12th that it had been selected as a 2025 Excellent Customer by the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC). The KDIC held a thank-you event for these customers in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 9th, expressing its gratitude to these customers for their continued cooperation and participation, contributing to the advancement of capital markets and enhanced competitiveness.

Following the financial authorities' 2022 decision to deem Music Cow a "security," Music Cow transformed its existing "Music Copyright Royalty Participation Claim" into a "Music Revenue Securities," a trust-benefit certificate, to strengthen investor protection. This transformation allows deposits to be managed in a customer-named securities account, while the underlying copyright asset is safely separated and stored in a dual trust structure consisting of a financial trust and a copyright trust.

Music revenue securities are issued through the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation's electronic registration process, ensuring the stability of the issuance and distribution structure. Music Cow completed the electronic registration of 1,084 music revenue securities in September 2023 and reopened its platform. This marked the first time the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation accepted electronic registration of music copyright-based trust revenue securities.

A Music Cow representative stated, “Through the cooperation of the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, we were able to proceed with the stable electronic registration of new types of securities, such as music revenue certificates,” and added, “We will strive to provide safe and valuable products to investors even in a changing business environment, such as the institutionalization of piecemeal investment.”
