AP Green's distributed hydrogen production technology and marketability recognized by WHE 2025

APGREEN, a developer of decentralized hydrogen production systems, has been recognized for both its technological prowess and marketability at the World Hydrogen Expo (WHE 2025). APGREEN has proven the competitiveness of its on-site hydrogen production technology by winning the Grand Prize in the Hydrogen Production category at the H2 Innovation Awards and the Excellent Pick (Grand Prize) at the Best Product Media Awards.

The H2 Innovation Awards, jointly hosted by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation and the Korea Energy Agency, are a leading technology award ceremony for the hydrogen industry. Winners are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of technological excellence, innovation, marketability, and growth potential. AP Green was selected for the grand prize in the hydrogen production category in recognition of the technological sophistication and industrial applicability of its distributed, low-power hydrogen production system, the "APG-Series."

In addition, it won the Excellent Pick (Grand Prize) at the 'Best Product Media Awards', where a group of professional journalists from the Automobile Journalists Association directly evaluate products and technologies at the exhibition site, proving its competitiveness in terms of actual marketability and on-site response.

AP Green's APG-Series is an on-site, distributed hydrogen production system that produces hydrogen immediately on-site, using gaseous fuels like LNG and biogas. Designed with an integrated container structure, it is easy to install and transport, and can be operated without an external hydrogen supply or large-scale infrastructure.

By applying low-power, high-efficiency reforming technology based on partial oxidation (POX), the plant can simultaneously produce up to 20 kg of hydrogen and approximately 300 kWh of electricity per day. Its modular structure allows for gradual expansion based on demand. These characteristics are considered highly competitive in diverse applications, including industrial complexes, construction sites, commercial facilities, and emergency power sources.

AP Green is a clean energy solutions company that develops and manufactures partial oxidation-based distributed hydrogen production systems (APG-Series). The company is pursuing commercialization, focusing on the small- and medium-sized on-site hydrogen production market. Beginning with the APG-5, the company has established a product lineup that includes the APG-20, APG-50, and APG-100. The company continues to advance its technology, focusing on real-world applications, through intelligent operation control based on real-time monitoring and enhanced safety design. Currently, the company is actively engaged in overseas proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and discussions with global engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and energy companies, preparing for global market entry.

AP Green CEO Park Tae-yoon said, "This award is significant in that it passed both the official awards focused on technology evaluation and the field-based media evaluation. It demonstrates that decentralized hydrogen production can be a practical alternative in actual industrial settings." He added, "We will accelerate the application and commercialization of this decentralized hydrogen supply model, not only domestically but also overseas."
