Seoul Economic Promotion Agency Obtains ISO 50001 Certification

The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA, CEO Kim Hyeon-woo) , a small and medium-sized enterprise support agency of Seoul Metropolitan Government, announced on the 15th that it had received ISO 50001 certification from KSR Certification Center in recognition of its efforts to improve energy efficiency and eco-friendly management of its headquarters building.

ISO 50001 is an international standard that applies a systematic management system to enable companies and organizations to efficiently manage and continuously improve energy use. It is used as a key indicator of eco-friendly and sustainable management.

Through this certification, the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency plans to go beyond simple energy savings and strengthen company-wide ESG management capabilities and disseminate best practices within the organization. To this end, the agency has been pursuing various energy-saving policies, including the introduction of a real-time energy monitoring system, replacement with high-efficiency LED lighting, expansion of eco-friendly facilities, and improvements to heating and cooling control systems.

Furthermore, we have continued to implement environmentally friendly practices within the organization, such as energy conservation campaigns for employees and the operation of recycling and sterilization pack recovery devices. We have also focused on raising awareness of energy efficiency. Going forward, we plan to expand our energy conservation efforts by introducing high-efficiency equipment and enhancing real-time monitoring.

Kim Hyun-woo, CEO of the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, said, “ISO 50001 certification goes beyond simply meeting international standards; it is the result of our consistent pursuit of energy conservation, eco-friendliness, and ESG management.” He added, “We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility as an eco-friendly public institution that leads energy efficiency and climate change response.”
