The Jeju Free International City Development Center announced on December 18th that it signed a business agreement with the National Pension Service and Jeju National University to strengthen cooperation in information security and personal information protection among related organizations in the Jeju region. This agreement aims to systematically strengthen cyber threat response by linking the security capabilities of each organization.
Under the agreement, the three organizations will pursue various joint activities, including cross-examining security vulnerabilities through simulated hacking and security threat response, benchmarking of leading organizations and mutual exchange of security personnel, strengthening of inter-agency cyber crisis response cooperation, support for fostering future talent centered on practice, and activating the sharing of public relations channels between the organizations.
Amidst the continued sophistication of cyber threats, this agreement is significant in that it establishes an effective information security response foundation through inter-agency cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Kwak Jin-gyu, Acting Chairman of the Jeju Free International City Development Center; Song In-bo, Director of the Pension Division at the National Government Employees Pension Service; and Kim Il-hwan, President of Jeju National University. The agreement was signed and exchanged with other officials.
JDC Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu said, “Through this agreement, we have established a cooperative foundation for jointly responding to evolving cyber threats,” and added, “Through continued cooperation, we will contribute to strengthening the cybersecurity capabilities of the Jeju region and creating a safe digital environment.”
