Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation held the '2025 Climate Tech High Innovation', a joint performance sharing event for the '2025 Gyeonggi Climate Tech Startup Promotion Project', at the Pangyo Startup Zone on the 19th.
This event was recognized for going beyond simply showcasing the technological achievements of climate tech startups. It also provided a platform for sharing the process of demonstrating how these efforts lead to revenue generation, investment attraction, and business collaboration. Approximately 70 people attended the event, including companies selected for the first and second Climate Tech programs, as well as investors, large corporations, and startup representatives.
The event began with a presentation of key achievements from the Gyeonggi Province Climate Tech Startup Incubation Project, which has been underway for the past year. The Gyeonggi Innovation Center shared its support results, focusing on objective metrics such as investment attraction volume, technological collaboration cases, and commercialization indicators. The center also presented the results of its contributions to the market entry and growth of climate tech companies.
Next, the presentations and awards ceremony were held to select outstanding climate tech companies in four categories: Net Zero, Global, Deep Tech, and Scaling. Participating companies, including Ripla, Fitin, Davar, and H Energy, presented their technological competitiveness and business performance, highlighting the marketability and global expansion potential of their climate tech technologies.
Additionally, a panel discussion and roundtable discussion with investors, large and medium-sized enterprises, and climate tech startups focused on the climate tech industry's mid- to long-term direction, investment strategies, and open innovation collaboration. Hoban Group and DB Capital presented potential business partnerships with startups through reverse pitching.
The latter half of the event featured a networking program based on prior demand, featuring one-on-one meetings between investors and startups. This hands-on approach was praised for expanding opportunities for practical collaboration among participating companies.
Kim Won-kyung, CEO of the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, stated that this performance sharing session served as an opportunity to confirm the structure that connects climate tech startups to investment, business, and global expansion. He added that Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Center plan to continue providing full-cycle support to climate tech companies to help them grow into innovative, globally competitive companies.
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Province Climate Tech Startup Fostering Project is a program that supports technological advancement, verification, investment linkages, and global expansion for a total of 100 companies by 2026, and is being promoted with the goal of responding to the climate crisis and creating new industries.
