Rerounder Co., Ltd. (CEO Hong Yu-ri), which develops corporate idle asset trading and ESG transition technologies and operates NAFAL, a resource circulation auction solution, has been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' technology startup support program TIPS.
The TIPS program operates under a structure where private investors identify and invest in startups with outstanding technologies, and the government provides R&D funding and commercialization support. Selected companies can receive up to 500 million won in R&D funding and 200 million won in startup and marketing support over the next two years. Rerounder, upon CNT Tech's recommendation, will receive up to 700 million won in support.
Rerounder operates a circular platform called Napal, which re-distributes furniture, fixtures, props, and IP goods used in pop-up stores, exhibitions, brand events, and filming locations through auctions. By converting discarded assets into tradable assets, Rerounder reduces costs for companies and generates transaction-based revenue for the platform.
Through this TIPS selection, Rerounder plans to develop technology to quantify the residual value and ESG impact of corporate idle assets. Leveraging AI-based value prediction and carbon reduction calculation technology, the goal is to transform corporate idle assets, previously underutilized due to data insufficiencies and complex procedures, into tradable assets and ESG data. This technology will be integrated into the Napal platform.
Through this technology development, Rerounder plans to enable companies to assess the economic value and environmental impact of idle assets after the end of events or projects in advance, and to enhance resource circulation, sales, and data utilization structures.
Hong Yu-ri, CEO of Rerounder, said, “With the selection of TIPS as an opportunity, we will technologically complete a structure that converts idle assets into value and data rather than wasted costs,” and added, “We will create an industry standard that allows resource circulation to operate naturally.”
