The Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as the Jeju Center) announced that Peter Peter (CEO Park Jun-ho), a pet tech company based on genetic testing and a childcare company, has signed its first overseas service supply contract targeting the Taiwanese market and will begin providing overseas services in earnest.
Through this agreement, PeterPeter will gradually introduce genetic testing services for companion dogs and cats, including genetic disease risk testing and DNA-based breed analysis. Leveraging its local partner's distribution network, the company plans to offer services through various channels, including veterinary hospitals, specialty stores, and online platforms, while simultaneously adapting to the market and validating its business model.
Previously, Peterpeter participated in the Taiwan Pet Expo with local partners in October, introducing its services to pet owners, veterinary professionals, and distributors. The high level of interest and response witnessed at the event led to this contract signing, and it also provided an opportunity to further enhance its services to reflect local demand.
PeterPeter is receiving inquiries from Taiwan, Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia, and other Asian countries, as well as some parts of the Middle East, and is currently in discussions to establish a platform tailored to the specific systems and market characteristics of each country.
In Korea, we are collaborating with Nongshim's pet specialty brand, Bbangryodaum, to develop and operate a package combining DNA testing and nutritional supplements, and are conducting joint marketing. This package, a customized solution that considers the genetic characteristics and health of pets, is attracting attention as a prime example of collaboration between pet food and healthcare.
Peter Peter CEO Park Jun-ho said, “Taiwan is a market with high interest and consumption levels in pet healthcare, and this contract is significant in that our technology and data competitiveness have been recognized overseas as well.” He added, “Based on our domestic collaboration achievements and public sector performance, we will pursue gradual overseas expansion, focusing on Asia.”
