J.O. Co., Ltd. (CEO Kang Deuk-ju), a leading global carbon nanotube (CNT) company, announced on the 24th that it has signed a supply contract for vertical vacuum dryers, a cutting-edge material equipment, with domestic defense and mobility industry customers.
Vertical vacuum dryers are equipment that vacuum-concentrate liquid slurries and then dry them into solid powder. They offer high space and energy efficiency, ensuring consistent drying quality of raw materials. They can be manufactured in sizes ranging from small to large, and can be operated to suit a variety of raw material characteristics.
JEO's advanced materials equipment business comprises equipment for complex processes such as dry dispersion of CNT conductive materials, grinding of solid electrolyte powder, mixing and coating of active materials and additives, and mixing, drying, and heat treatment. This equipment provides raw material fine powderization and rapid, uniform mixing and drying technology for industries such as secondary batteries, defense, aerospace, and chemicals.
JEO is actively expanding its advanced materials equipment business, following its existing battery materials and plant engineering businesses, and is exploring opportunities for application in various industries. A company representative stated that this contract has confirmed the potential of advanced materials equipment in the defense and aerospace industries and is expected to contribute to strengthening the nation's industrial competitiveness.
Last June, JEO signed a contract with a secondary battery customer to supply core equipment for the dry electrode process, and completed the supply of the equipment, reducing equipment investment and energy costs compared to the wet electrode process.
