Cisco, a global company in the network and security field, announced on the 22nd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HL Robotics for wireless network technology collaboration for its autonomous parking robot, ‘PARKIE.’
This agreement officially recognizes Cisco's CURWB (Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul) technology, a highly reliable and highly available wireless backhaul solution, as Paki's dedicated wireless communications standard. The two companies will collaborate to provide stable, high-quality services and lay the foundation for expanded commercialization.
Under the agreement, Cisco and HL Robotics will jointly conduct technology certification, integration, and documentation, and will pursue efforts such as strengthening wireless communication stability, optimizing handover in high-speed mobile environments, managing wireless interference, and improving video quality.
Paki was recently introduced and is now in operation at the Chungbuk Content Enterprise Support Center. Cisco network technology has proven its reliability and stability in a field environment. Over the past year, the two companies have successfully conducted various tests, including proof-of-concept (PoC), technology consulting, and on-site optimization.
In the future, the two companies plan to strengthen their ability to respond to large-scale projects through the confirmation of CURWB-based network architecture, field verification, and capacity planning, and jointly develop specialized functions for parking robots, such as handover optimization in high-speed moving environments, radio interference management, and improvement of video quality of service (QoS).
Cisco provides a stable, ultra-low latency wireless network to support HL Robotics' physical AI system, and supports rapid recovery in the event of data loss through Multi Path Operation (MPO) technology.
“This collaboration is a case where Cisco wireless network technology has been applied to robotics sites to prove its performance and stability,” said Choi Ji-hee, CEO of Cisco Korea. “With HL Robotics, we will accelerate technological innovation in the autonomous driving and robotics fields and create global wireless communication standards.”
Kim Yun-ki, CEO of HL Robotics, said, “The CURWB solution has demonstrated outstanding reliability and connectivity in a commercial environment,” and added, “Through this collaboration, we plan to enhance the performance of Paki wireless communication, expand stable services, and advance into the global market.”
