Seelab and Joan Sons Sign MOU to Build a Physical AI Data Center

Vision AI specialist company Seelab (CEO Se-hyeok Yoon and Jeong-hwan Chae) announced on the 18th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with data center specialist Joan Sons (CEO Byeong-gwon Jo) to build a physical AI data center.

Through this agreement, the two companies will jointly plan and implement a "Physical AI Data Center," a next-generation AI infrastructure model that connects semiconductor and manufacturing industries with data centers. The goal is to go beyond AI learning and implement an "AI Factory," a real-time service based on AI inference. Furthermore, by establishing a central data center in the metropolitan area, the two companies will establish an ultra-low-latency interconnection system between industrial sites and data centers.

While existing AI training data centers focus on large-scale learning, physical AI data centers are structured around inference, processing and leveraging data from industrial sites in real time. This enables immediate decision-making and control on-site, and utilizes digital twin technology to virtually replicate the physical environment of equipment, processes, and robots, maximizing operational efficiency.

Joan Sons provides data center design and operations capabilities, while CeeLab implements data center models by combining AI and digital twin technologies. CeeLab achieved NVIDIA Preferred Partner status in 2019 and secured NVIDIA Omniverse Competency in 2024, accumulating experience in building digital twins.

The two companies will also explore linking future semiconductor and manufacturing operation scenarios with data center service structures and combining Cielab's AI infrastructure software, "Astrago," with its professional service capabilities. Furthermore, they plan to expand the AI ecosystem through strategic collaborations with domestic and international AI companies.

Cho Byeong-gwon, CEO of Jo & Sons, said, "By combining C-Lab's AI technology with C-Lab's business capabilities, we will expand our scalable and profitable AI data center business model." Yoon Se-hyeok, CEO of C-Lab, stated, "Based on our physical AI capabilities connected to manufacturing sites, we will prepare a highly utilized physical AI factory."
