Sage Signs Business Agreement with RS Automation

SAIGE (Co-CEOs Jong-Woo Park and Young-Seok Hong), an industry-specialized vision AI company, and RS Automation (CEO Deok-Hyeon Kang), an industrial motion control specialist, announced that they have signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) for the joint development and commercialization of a next-generation robot and automation platform based on Physical AI.

This agreement aims to implement a Physical AI robot driving platform that allows robots to understand, learn, and correct data generated in the physical environment on their own by combining RS Automation's PC-based motion control, servo drive, and high-resolution encoder technologies with Sage's industry-specific vision AI robotics software.

The two companies will jointly develop AI-based motion optimization technology. This technology uses AI to learn high-resolution physical data, such as motors, currents, torques, and vibrations generated during robot operation, to optimize precision and stability in real time. Sage will be responsible for AI model development, vision and robotics algorithms, and physical AI implementation software, while RS Automation will provide servo systems, motion controllers, a smart tuning platform, and high-quality control and sensor data.

Furthermore, through joint research on Edge AI and Robot Foundry architecture, the two companies plan to develop a prototype of a Physical AI robot platform and conduct Proof of Concept (PoC) studies targeting manufacturing and semiconductor customers to secure references for application in actual manufacturing and logistics processes. Depending on the results of the technology integration, formal business agreements and joint product launches will also be considered.

Based on this collaboration, the two companies plan to expand cooperation with the government and research institutes, including jointly proposing national Physical AI projects, participating in the K-Robot Alliance, and carrying out national data and AI-based projects, thereby promoting the creation of a domestic Physical AI robot ecosystem and entry into the global market.

Sage CEO Jong-Woo Park said, “Physical AI can only perform effectively when it accurately understands the physical characteristics of the robot and its work, and collects and trains optimized data during the control stage.” He added, “Through this collaboration, we will implement a next-generation AI robot platform that will deliver tangible results in manufacturing and logistics automation sites.”

“Combining AI with motion control technology, which is the core of robots, will become a new standard for the next-generation robot industry,” said Kang Deok-hyeon, CEO of RS Automation. “We will build a Korean-style Physical AI platform and present an integrated robot platform with global competitiveness.”
