Frontrip (CEO Lim Su-yeol), which operates the experience-centered leisure and tourism platform Flip, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saudi Arabia-based cultural tourism platform Hyyak in Seoul on December 15, marking the beginning of full-scale cooperation for entering the Middle Eastern market.
Through this agreement, the two companies will explore new collaboration possibilities combining experience-based tourism and digital platforms in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia. Drawing on their respective platform operations experience and understanding of the local tourism ecosystem, Flip and Hyac will discuss how their culture- and experience-centered tourism model can be expanded to other countries and market environments.
Flip has been a leader in the experience-based tourism market in Korea, operating a variety of content, including activities, classes, local experiences, and premium experiences. Through this agreement, Flip plans to broaden its understanding of the Middle East's tourism and cultural industry environment and concretize its global market expansion strategy.
A Flip representative stated, “The Middle East is a region where rapid change and growth are occurring simultaneously in the tourism industry,” and added, “Through this agreement, Flip is concretizing its role as an experience-based tourism platform in the global market and moving on to the full-scale implementation phase of cooperation with local partners.”
