UDM Tech (CEO Wang Jinam) , a company specializing in smart factory solutions based on industrial AI and PLC interpretation, announced on the 16th that it is beginning full-scale expansion of its technology targeting the Japanese manufacturing industry.
UDMTech has been officially invited to participate in the Toyota Motor Corporation's in-house technology exhibition scheduled for January 20, 2026, and the Tokyo Big Sight TMC exhibition, one of Japan's largest manufacturing technology exhibitions. The Toyota in-house technology exhibition is a rare event where external companies are invited, and it has been reported that a trading company affiliated with the Toyota Group has shown interest in UDMTech's technology and directly proposed its participation.
At this exhibition, UDM Tech will showcase OPTRA Black-Box, an AI-based control data analysis solution currently being used on Hyundai and Kia production lines. This solution analyzes the PLC control logic of automated equipment in real time, tracing the cause and providing engineering guidance in the event of anomalies. It also detects changes in equipment operation patterns to support preventative maintenance. Furthermore, it is designed to immediately notify various devices when alarms occur, enabling large-scale equipment monitoring with a small workforce.
This solution uniquely meets the explainable AI requirements demanded by manufacturing sites by analyzing PLC control program execution data with AI models without the need for additional, expensive sensors. This provides a competitive edge over existing systems in terms of effectiveness and scalability.
UDM Tech plans to participate in the TMC exhibition with a joint booth with a Toyota affiliate, expanding collaboration opportunities with Japanese auto parts, machinery, food, and logistics automation companies. Company-wide concept verification discussions are underway with Aisin, a key Toyota Group affiliate, and the specific scope and schedule will be discussed during the exhibition.
The company plans to use this exhibition to expand application cases across the entire Japanese manufacturing industry, including the Toyota Group and its affiliates, and to pursue a market entry strategy leveraging its global supply chain.
