Jeju Center Signs Business Agreement with Antler Ibex

Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center announced on the 12th that it signed a strategic business agreement with Antler Ibex, a global venture builder and investment firm, to strengthen cooperation in global open innovation.

This agreement was pursued to promote the global scale-up of domestic startups and expand the network supporting overseas expansion through open innovation.

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to jointly discover and nurture startups based on artificial intelligence technology, including energy, climate tech, bio, and mobility, which are specialized fields in the Jeju region; collaborate on global open innovation partnerships and proof-of-concept (PoC); support overseas market entry for Jeju Center-funded companies and invested companies; and link follow-up investments for jointly discovered companies.

Founded in Singapore in 2018, Antler is a specialist early-stage investment firm. With approximately US$1.4 billion in assets under management, it has invested in over 1,800 startups across 30 cities worldwide. Antler Ibex connects large corporations with startups to support global market entry and pilot projects.

After signing the agreement, the Jeju Center invited the investment company to share IR materials with Antler and discuss global expansion strategies and potential joint business collaborations.

Lee Byeong-seon, CEO of the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center, said that through this collaboration, they plan to expand collaboration between global venture capital firms, companies, and startups, and foster Jeju as a network link and demonstration base for entering the Asian market.
