H Energy and Anseong City are working together to establish a public-private partnership to implement RE100.

Renewable energy platform company H Energy (CEO Ham Il-han) announced on the 16th that it will begin building a public-private partnership RE100 implementation model in cooperation with Anseong City.

In accordance with a business agreement previously signed with Anseong City to establish a Busan energy-specialized company base centered on industrial complexes, H Energy is pursuing a plan to expand solar power generation infrastructure centered on industrial complexes within the jurisdiction and supply renewable energy to companies located there at rates lower than those charged by Korea Electric Power Corporation.

This project is a public-private partnership model, where Anseong City provides idle land and H Energy invests technology and capital to address the region's energy challenges. The project utilizes power generated from idle spaces, such as rooftops, of companies in the industrial complex, which are then used by nearby industrial complex companies, simultaneously supporting energy efficiency and RE100 implementation.

At the corporate briefing held on the 25th of last month, representatives from companies located in industrial complexes that are experiencing management burdens due to rising electricity rates and other factors attended and showed interest in a solution that would allow them to reduce electricity costs by utilizing the roof of their workplaces without initial facility investment.

SolarShareBaro, operated by H Energy, is a B2B solar power direct purchase platform that supplies solar power at competitive rates compared to industrial electricity rates. Applications are open to companies regardless of size, credit rating, or region, and H Energy handles the entire process, from installation to operation and management. Furthermore, SolarOnCare, which monitors approximately 4,500 solar power plants nationwide, manages power generation efficiency.

H Energy CEO Choi In-seon said that the collaboration with Anseong City is an example of simultaneously supporting cost reduction and RE100 implementation for companies located in industrial complexes, and that the direct purchase model of solar power can be a practical alternative for industrial complexes with high electricity consumption.

In line with the trend of mandatory installation of solar power systems in public parking lots, H Energy plans to expand the creation of a distributed energy ecosystem centered on local governments and industrial complexes, starting with Anseong City.
