On the 12th, WortIntelligence (CEO Jeong-ho Yoon) announced that it will collaborate with global AI translation technology company DeepL to advance vertical AI technology in the patent field. This collaboration marks DeepL's first global collaboration in the patent field, and aims to strengthen the competitiveness of both companies by focusing on providing high-quality patent translations and AI-ready data.
Through this collaboration, WortIntelligence will combine its proprietary patent-specific AI technology with DeepL's natural language processing-based translation model. This will enable patent documents from over 30 countries to be translated directly into the relevant languages without intermediary language intervention, and will establish an end-to-end (E2E) patent AI pipeline encompassing translation, summarization, classification, and research.
The two companies will jointly produce and supply high-quality patent AI-ready data for AI training to the global market, strengthening their role as a patent translation data hub. The resulting data will be utilized by research institutions, companies, and governments for AI training and global R&D, providing a foundation for accurately translating specialized patent terminology without loss of meaning.
Through this collaboration, WertIntelligence aims to popularize the use of patent data and grow into a global patent vertical AI company. Specifically, it plans to apply DeepL translation technology to its AI native research product, "Keywert Insight," to expand the global user experience. DeepL also plans to collaborate with WertIntelligence to enhance the accuracy of translations of complex patent documents containing a mix of technical and legal terminology.
“This collaboration goes beyond simple translation and has significant implications for building a patent-based AI Ready Data ecosystem,” said Yoon Jeong-ho, CEO of Wort Intelligence. “We will present a new global standard for patent-based vertical AI.”
“This collaboration demonstrates the value translation technology can bring to the intellectual property sector,” said Kiyo Takayama, Vice President of DeepL APAC. “We will support global innovation by removing language barriers to patent data.”
