Guru Company's "Treasure Island" Wins Grand Prize at the 2025 Content Startup Demo Day

Guru Company (CEO Wonhyuk Choi) announced on the 12th that its webtoon/web novel plugin platform "Treasure Island" won the grand prize at the "2025 Content Startup Demo Day" hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency. This award reflects high praise for the platform's performance and global expansion potential.

Treasure Island is a B2B content platform that provides webtoons and web novels in the form of plugins for corporate apps in areas such as finance, distribution, and communications. In just one year since its launch, it has recorded approximately 100 content providers, 11,000 works, 20 corporate app integrations, and 300,000 daily active users.

In particular, it created a new readership by attracting approximately 3 million new readers in their 40s and 50s who were unfamiliar with webtoons and web novels, and also contributed to increasing additional revenue for long-tail works whose sales decline after serialization ends.

Guru Company has established an AI-based webtoon and web novel localization system through the Korea Creative Content Agency's "Content Startup Investment-Linked Startup Leap Forward Program." By automating translation, OCR, inpainting, and typesetting processes, it reduces the cost and time of producing multilingual versions and is preparing to enter the Japanese market in 2026.

Choi Won-hyeok, CEO of Guru Company, said, “I find this award very meaningful and will replicate the ‘plug-in + content = retention improvement’ model that has been proven in Korea overseas as well,” and added, “We will combine AI localization technology to create a global success story.”
