Shellpaspace Co., Ltd., a technology research-focused Daejeon farm operator, received the Industrial Service Medal at the 28th Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, and Food Science and Technology Awards held at the Yangjae aT Center on the 10th. The awards recognize and encourage researchers and companies that have contributed to the development and dissemination of practical agricultural technologies.
Shellpaspace received the Industrial Service Medal in recognition of its contributions to establishing an energy-saving smart farm model through technologies that provide optimal light sources for each growth stage and the development of hybrid cooling packages. The company received high praise for its contributions to advancing the technological sophistication of smart agriculture and reducing energy costs in agricultural settings.
Meanwhile, the themed Daejeon Farm (operated by Donggunamu Co., Ltd.) contributed to Daejeon Metropolitan City receiving the Minister's Award for Homeless Welfare Policy in 2025 from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. In July of this year, Daejeon Farm signed a business agreement with the Daejeon Homeless Comprehensive Support Center and the Korea Self-Reliance Welfare Development Institute to promote self-reliance projects for street homeless people, including smart farm-based crop cultivation and management. In April, the company also received social enterprise certification.
Park Young-cheol, Director of the Daejeon Metropolitan City Green Agriculture and Life Science Bureau, stated, "Amidst complex crises such as the climate crisis, food security, and rural population decline, the importance of Daejeon-style smart agriculture is being emphasized." He added, "As Daejeon Farm has established itself as an excellent model for smart agriculture, we will continue to support its nationwide expansion."
