Oceans Bio, a company specializing in electronic pharmaceuticals, announced on the 12th that it received the Prime Minister's Award for its contribution to "venture business revitalization" at the "2025 Venture Startup Promotion Merit Awards" ceremony hosted by the Korea Venture Business Association. The Korea Venture Business Association established this award to encourage industrial innovation through venture business revitalization, and selected 10 companies that demonstrated outstanding performance in strategic core technology development, market development, and new technology introduction.
Founded in 2018, Oceans Bio is a bio-healthtech company that has developed and launched prototypes of electronic drugs for the treatment of epilepsy and depression. The company received high marks in this evaluation for its core technological prowess, patent value, market contribution, employment, and friendly business practices, and was selected as the recipient of the Prime Minister's Award.
Oceans Bio is slated to launch "BeCozU," a wellness product designed to improve sleep disorders, later this year. It also plans to actively expand into the US and Chinese markets, furthering its global expansion in the electronic pharmaceutical sector. Furthermore, the company plans to sequentially launch three new products starting in 2026, following additional clinical trials targeting major conditions like depression, to enhance the efficacy of its therapeutic technology and enhance its product competitiveness.
CEO Lee Hyun-woong stated, “We will expand our user base with customer-friendly features and design,” and added, “We will derive treatment insights based on clinical data and, in the future, add features that incorporate AI technology to create a new standard in the digital healthcare field.”
