Konkuk University's Startup Support Center announced on the 11th that Florvista (CEO Lee Chung-ryeol), an edutech startup developing local, realistic education solutions, signed a contract with the Korea National Maritime and Ocean University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation in November for the development and operation of VR content for 'LOCAL Startup Capacity Building Education'.
This contract is a project that utilizes Unreal Engine and VR technology to conduct 'Busan Local Startup Content Development Education', and is evaluated as an example of Flovista's realistic technology and educational design capabilities being officially verified by a public institution.
Based on its expertise in immersive media, Florvista is developing Vol. 1 of "Forest of Occupations," an online-offline edutech solution that delivers the value of local jobs and environmental messages. This content, titled "Jeju Haenyeo," is a hybrid career education model that combines Unreal Engine-powered VR experiences with eco-friendly kits. The goal is to provide structured information about endangered local occupations to youth.
The content ensures authenticity and educational depth through on-site investigations of haenyeo villages and interviews with current haenyeo divers. The VR experience explores the problem of marine desertification and implements professional activities using the "Reach and Pull Launcher." The program is designed to expand activities through offline kits.
Lee Chung-ryeol, CEO of Flovista, said, “We wanted to create new possibilities in education by connecting local jobs, environment, and entrepreneurship with realistic technology,” and added, “We will work with public institutions such as schools, libraries, and training centers nationwide to leap forward as a leading edutech company in the local career education market.”
