Smart mobility specialist Kanevi Mobility (CEO Jong-taek Jeong and Geun-baek Ahn) was officially selected as a Pre-Ocean Star company at the '2025 Pre-Ocean Star' company designation ceremony held at the aT Center in Seoul.
The Reserve Ocean Star program, hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, discovers and fosters companies with technological innovation and growth potential in the marine and fisheries sector. This year, only five companies were selected nationwide.
Canevi Mobility was selected in recognition of its technological competitiveness across maritime mobility, including electric and hybrid-based eco-friendly ship propulsion systems, sensor fusion and real-time perception technology for autonomous navigation, and smart network and I-WLAN technologies. Selection criteria included possessing superior technology, high commercialization potential, sales over the past three years, and innovation in the maritime and fisheries sector.
Companies selected as prospective Ocean Stars receive a variety of benefits, including support for technology development and validation (R&D), investment attraction and expert consulting, preferential treatment in marine and fisheries-related projects and projects, linkage with export support programs, and assistance in securing talent. Through these programs, Canebi Mobility will receive support throughout the entire process, from technology verification to commercialization and global expansion.
Jeong Jong-taek, CEO of Canevi Mobility, said, “Being selected as a preliminary Ocean Star is a recognition of our technological prowess and growth potential in the marine mobility sector,” and added, “With government support, we will strengthen our global competitiveness in the eco-friendly and smart marine mobility market and expand opportunities for overseas cooperation.”
