Medical AI company MediWhale announced that it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award at the 2025 Korea Industrial Technology R&D Competition Industrial Technology Promotion and Technology Award Ceremony held on the 3rd in recognition of the technological prowess and business performance of 'Doctor Noon CVD'.
The "2025 Industrial Technology Promotion Merit and Korea Technology Awards" are Korea's most prestigious technology awards, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. These awards recognize industrial engineers who have contributed to enhancing industrial competitiveness and national economic growth, as well as innovative and marketable technologies. The Korea Technology Awards recognize companies, research institutes, and universities that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in developing new technologies and products and have had a significant ripple effect across industries. They serve as an official recognition of national technological competitiveness.
MediWhale was recognized for its contribution to the development of the domestic healthcare industry by developing and commercializing 'Doctor Eye CVD', the world's first simple eye examination that predicts the risk of cardiovascular disease with an accuracy similar to that of a cardiac CT.
Dr.Nun CVD is AI software that predicts future cardiovascular disease risk based on retinal images captured through fundus examinations. A recent American Heart Association study published in Late-Breaking Science demonstrated predictive accuracy comparable to cardiac CT and its potential as a replacement for it.
Dr.Nun CVD is used in over 100 medical institutions around the world and has established itself as a new paradigm for early detection, prevention, and management of cardiovascular risks in patients with metabolic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
