Quantum standard technology specialist SDT (CEO Jiwon Yoon) has been selected as the '2025 Korea Work-Life Balance Excellent Company' by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
This selection is the result of a comprehensive evaluation of quantitative indicators, such as the introduction of flexible work arrangements, average weekly working hours, and utilization of annual leave and parental leave, as well as qualitative criteria, such as efforts to improve work practices and organizational culture. SDT received high marks for its innovative human resources policies and its efforts to attract and retain top talent through these policies.
SDT's core system, the "Fully Flexible Work System," allows employees to freely distribute their work resources on a monthly basis and provides sufficient rest time after project completion to make up for accumulated working hours. This effectively achieves work-life balance.
This system eliminates the concept of being late, maximizing employee autonomy and serving as a foundation for long-term employment for top talent residing in metropolitan areas such as Gyeonggi, North Chungcheong, and Gangwon. Furthermore, employee benefits have been enhanced, including flexible use of childcare and personal time, and accommodations in Jeju Island. The integrated workflow between the Seoul Gangnam headquarters and the Guro production site also maintains an efficient collaborative system.
SDT operates the KQIC internship and advanced training programs for young quantum talent, and utilizes the Military Manpower Administration's specialized researcher program to continuously recruit and retain talented individuals both domestically and internationally. These efforts have led to quantum technology development achievements and selection as projects by the Ministry of Science and ICT, contributing to the domestic development of quantum computers in Korea.
Meanwhile, SDT achieved a 300% revenue growth year-over-year, driven primarily by quantum computing-related sales. It has secured a rare quantum-classical hybrid data center client globally and plans to complete domestic installation by the end of this year.
Yoon Ji-won, CEO of SDT, said, “SDT’s philosophy of ‘work and life fostering each other’s growth’ has been institutionally encouraged and recognized externally,” and “Our innovative work environment based on creative focus has driven our performance, and we will continue to secure excellent talent who will lead the domestic quantum technology industry in the future.”
