The Korea Organ Donation Agency (Director Samyeol Lee) announced on November 21 that it had won the grand prize in the Life Respect Social Contribution category at the '2025 Republic of Korea National Social Industry Contribution/Best Brand Awards' ceremony.
The awards ceremony, held at the Korea Press Center, was hosted by The Herald Business and The Korea Herald and organized by Monthly Power Korea. It was designed to recognize companies and individuals who have contributed to the nation, society, and industry. A total of 37 companies and organizations participated, and the event featured a variety of performances.
This award was presented to identify and promote outstanding organizations with unique corporate cultures and high competitiveness to domestic and international consumers. The Korea Organ Donation Agency, Korea's only organ and tissue donation support organization designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, was recognized for its work in brain-dead organ and tissue donation and its continued efforts to spread a culture of sharing life.
The Korea Organ Donation Agency operates a 24-hour diagnostic laboratory (KODA LAB) that provides essential testing, supporting rapid and accurate organ donation. It also offers a variety of family support services, including social worker support, self-help groups, and memorial services for donors and their families.
Director Lee Sam-yeol said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the donors, their families, and the medical staff who participated in the life-sharing effort in the medical field,” and added, “We will continue to strive to spread the precious value of life-sharing and a positive donation culture.”
