The Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a meeting with venture and startup companies in the Honam region to discuss ways to become one of the top four global venture powerhouses.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 24th that it held a meeting of venture and startups in the Honam region at the Gwangju Songjeong Station Area Center to establish a plan to become one of the top 4 global venture powerhouses.

This meeting was organized to hear opinions from the field during the policy-making process to strengthen the venture and startup ecosystem and fully expand the venture boom. It is the third and final regional meeting, following the Chungcheong region (November 4) and Yeongnam region (November 12).

Representatives of venture and startup companies, including baby unicorn companies from the Honam region, attended the event and presented various opinions, including the need to activate investment and financial support and expand the regional venture ecosystem.

Noh Yong-seok, First Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, said, “This was an important opportunity to directly hear about the difficulties and demands of local ventures in non-metropolitan areas where venture investment infrastructure is relatively lacking,” and added, “We will continue our policy efforts to create a better growth environment for local ventures.”
