The Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association (KOSA) and Megazone Cloud held a program in Tokyo from November 17th to 19th to support the entry of 13 promising Korean AI and software companies into the Japanese market. This program, part of the "Joint Entry Support Project" of the Large, Small, and Rural Cooperation Foundation, was hosted by Megazone Cloud and implemented by KOSA.
The event was held in the form of a business meetup with major companies such as Japan's SI conglomerates and financial groups. The participating companies were MakinaRocks, BI Matrix, Psionic AI, ScatterX, Sflap (Woomo), EcoPeace, XcureNet, OpenSurvey, Watap Labs, Korea First Tech, Crowdworks, Crosshub, and Piaspace, a total of 13 companies, and they sought global partnership opportunities centered on cutting-edge technologies including generative AI.
The selected companies received support, including technological advancement consulting, overseas validation (PoC, NDA, etc.), local incorporation, PR and marketing, networking meetups, and investment in local companies. This support helped raise global awareness of their solutions and strengthen their foundation for entry into the Japanese market. In particular, Japanese SI company Y pre-reviewed the participating companies' solutions, held in-depth pitching sessions with local business unit staff, and discussed potential future joint ventures.
KOSA evaluated this program as a new format that goes beyond a simple participation event and provides connections tailored to local needs, and stated that it provided participating companies with an opportunity to directly identify Japanese market demand and concretize entry strategies.
KOSA Executive Vice President Seo Seong-il said, “Through this program, we have practically confirmed the demand in the Japanese market,” and added, “We will continue to support domestic AI and software companies to secure global competitiveness by expanding the support area in the future.”
