Obud, a membership-based wellness and fitness reservation platform, announced on the 18th that it had been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' TIPS program following seed funding. This selection will see the company receive up to 800 million won in research and development (R&D) funding.
Obud provides an integrated platform service that allows users to freely use various programs such as yoga, barre, Pilates, and personal training at approximately 600 premium wellness and fitness studios through its 'Wellness Pass' membership.
Through the TIPS project, Obut will advance AI-based personalized program recommendation and reservation automation technology. The company plans to develop a feature that analyzes users' exercise patterns, preferences, location, and schedule data to automatically suggest optimal wellness programs and even handle reservations.
CEO Noh In-hyeok stated, “As AI-based reservation and purchase flows become a global trend, we will lead this trend in the wellness and fitness sector as well,” adding, “We will build a platform that allows users to more easily access healthcare services.”
