AI tech company Crowdworks announced on the 20th that it will participate in the 'M.AX (Manufacturing AX) Alliance', a public-private consultative body launched by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The M.AX Alliance is Korea's largest manufacturing innovation project, with over 1,000 participating organizations, including leading domestic manufacturing companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Hyundai Motors, as well as AI specialists, academia, and public institutions. The government aims to expand the use of AI in the manufacturing industry and create added value of over 100 trillion won by 2030.
In this alliance, Crowdworks will be responsible for building high-quality data that determines the performance and reliability of manufacturing AI. It plans to apply its data engineering technologies, including manufacturing data optimization design, structuring, and multimodal data collection and refinement, to manufacturing companies.
In particular, the company has upgraded its AI data construction solution, Workstage, into a manufacturing-specific data platform that utilizes multimodal data such as video, images, and sensors, thereby supplying high-quality data required for AI application in actual product, process, and service environments and strengthening the physical AI foundation in the manufacturing sector.
Furthermore, Crowdworks expanded its manufacturing AI technology spectrum with the acquisition of Synflat, an AI-based video analysis solution company, in September. This acquisition strengthens its capabilities across manufacturing AI, encompassing not only data collection but also AI model learning, evaluation, and verification, as well as vision AI technology, and aims to expand its role in the M.AX ecosystem.
Kim Woo-seung, CEO of Crowdworks, said, “The starting point of Manufacturing AX is high-quality data that AI can learn from and a system to evaluate and verify it.” He added, “Based on the AI data construction and verification technology we have accumulated, we will provide a reliable data infrastructure to the M.AX ecosystem and support the AI-based leap forward of the domestic manufacturing industry.”
