AI Medtech specialist Waysen (CEO Kim Kyung-nam) announced on the 13th that it signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Vietnam's state-owned enterprise VNPT IT on the 12th. With this agreement, Waysen is expected to accelerate the expansion of its AI endoscope, "WAYMED ENDO," into Vietnamese hospitals.
VNPT is a state-owned enterprise leading Vietnam's digital transformation (DX). VNPT IT is a core subsidiary responsible for the group's information technology (IT) division. The Vietnamese government is pursuing digital transformation across all industries as a national strategic goal by 2030, and the healthcare sector is also actively preparing for hospital informatization and AI-based treatment innovation.
Through this agreement, Waysen and VNPT IT plan to pursue technological collaboration and joint business development to expand their medical AI business in Vietnam, focusing on the AI endoscope "WayMed Endo." Waysen is already actively pursuing validation and commercialization of WayMed Endo at major local hospitals, and has strengthened its market position based on steady sales growth.
The two companies aim to expand their share of the Vietnamese medical AI market by combining VNPT IT's nationwide hospital network with Weixen's AI technology, and to build an integrated AI healthcare platform that supports an efficient diagnostic environment for medical staff by enhancing the linkage between hospital information systems and AI diagnostic solutions.
At the signing ceremony, key executives, including VNPT IT CEO Mr. Pham Huy Hoang, attended and discussed the direction of AI adoption and commercialization in the Vietnamese medical field.
Waysen CEO Kim Kyung-nam said, “VNPT IT is a key company leading the digitalization of medical institutions in Vietnam, and we expect great synergy when combined with Waysen’s AI technology.” He added, “With this agreement as an opportunity, we will strengthen our leadership in the Vietnamese AI endoscopy market and present a new standard for endoscopy through ‘Waymed Endo.’”
