
As part of the '2025 Gyeongnam Resource-Linked Local Startup Activation Support Project' hosted by Gyeongsangnam-do and organized by the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, the 'Southwest Impact Demo Day' was held at the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center on November 7.
This event was attended by 12 local startups selected from 6 cities and counties in the southwestern part of Gyeongnam, including Tongyeong, Sacheon, Uiryeong, Goseong, Namhae, and Hadong. The IR (Investment Proposal) stage showcased startups leveraging unique regional resources, including specialty food brands, local cultural content, and space-based and experiential tourism services, under the theme of "Commercializing Local Sensibility." Venture capital firms, accelerators, and representatives from related organizations attended the event to discuss growth strategies and investment opportunities for local startups.
Participating companies showcased the differentiation and competitiveness of local brands by incorporating unique resources from each region, such as Namhae yuja, Tongyeong art resources, and Uiryeong agricultural products, into their brand identity.
Noh Chung-sik, CEO of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “The southwestern part of Gyeongnam is an attractive startup region that combines various resources such as culture and tourism,” and added, “Startups that reflect the local sensibility and individuality are contributing to the revitalization of the local economy, and we will continue to actively support the continued growth of local companies.”
