Ecocreation Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeon Beom-geun), an eco-friendly pyrolysis technology company, announced on September 30 that it signed a ‘Strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Sustainable Business Cooperation Based on Pyrolysis’ with Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation.
This agreement is part of a strategic partnership aimed at expanding Ecocreation's independently developed pyrolysis technology and plants into the global market. Yutaka Takamura, Head of the Green Chemicals SBU Division at Sumitomo Corporation, visited Ecocreation's headquarters in Incheon and toured the pyrolysis facility.
Key tasks of cooperation include ▲ reviewing the establishment of a joint venture utilizing Sumitomo Corporation's global network ▲ investigating laws and regulations related to pyrolysis business in each country ▲ global pyrolysis oil sales activities such as responding to customers and concluding sales contracts.
Ecocreation plans to conduct research and development (R&D) tailored to the technical regulations and licensing requirements of each country in the future, and actively support technology development and marketing activities for pyrolysis plants and the supply of pyrolysis oil.
Ecocreation is a specialized company that manufactures and supplies eco-friendly pyrolysis plants based on waste plastic pyrolysis equipment and pyrolysis oil refining technology. Pyrolysis involves indirectly pyrolyzing waste plastic in an oxygen-free environment to produce pyrolysis oil. Compared to conventional incineration, this process is considered an environmentally friendly method with superior air pollution reduction effects.
In particular, advanced purification processes such as removal of impurities such as wax, chlorine, and ink and separation of naphtha can be implemented through self-developed catalysts and purification facilities, and its performance and stability have been verified through the Ministry of Environment's demonstration project and New Excellent Technology (NET) certification.
Sumitomo Corporation, the agreement partner, is a leading Japanese general trading company and investment firm. It has been conducting global business for over 100 years in various industrial fields such as energy, metals, machinery, chemicals, food, distribution, and infrastructure, and has over 100 overseas bases in approximately 60 countries around the world.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to strengthen their cooperation system for expanding pyrolysis-based sustainable energy solutions by combining Sumitomo Corporation's global capabilities and Ecocreation's technological expertise.
