Schaeffler Korea (CEO Lee Byeong-chan) announced on the 7th that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with the ‘Kyungpook National University Humanoid Robot Research Lab’ to foster technical talent in the domestic humanoid robot field.
The sponsorship ceremony took place on the 4th at the Schaeffler Korea office in Yeouido, Seoul, and was attended by Schaeffler Korea CEO Lee Byung-chan, Kyungpook National University Professor Cho Hyun-min, and four graduate students. Through this agreement, Schaeffler Korea plans to provide funding for the lab's robot development activities and academic conference participation through the first half of 2026.

It has recently achieved outstanding research results, including eight patents registered and filed and ten published papers. Building on these achievements, the lab is currently conducting government R&D projects related to the development of humanoid robot-based automated process technology and bipedal locomotion control technology. The lab is expected to contribute to securing core humanoid robot technologies in Korea.
Lee Byung-chan, CEO of Schaeffler Korea, said, “Through this sponsorship, we have expanded our support beyond mobility to include the humanoid robot field,” and added, “We hope that future technology talents will grow and further develop through technological cooperation.”
