Law & Company Signs Exclusive Legal Content Agreement with Law & Company

Legal tech company Law & Company (CEO Kim Bon-hwan) has partnered with Beopmunsa (CEO Bae Hyo-seon) to strengthen its legal data competitiveness. Law & Company announced on the 6th that it has signed an exclusive legal content supply agreement with Beopmunsa.

Founded in 1953, Beopmunsa has been publishing authoritative books on various legal topics for over 70 years, making it a leading legal publisher in Korea. Over the past five years alone, it has published over 200 books. This agreement, following its partnership with Parkyoungsa last year, allows Law & Company to secure data from two major legal publishers. This makes Law & Company the only legal tech company in Korea to own content from both Parkyoungsa and Beopmunsa.

Law & Company plans to sequentially incorporate the acquired legal content into its artificial intelligence (AI) legal service, "SuperLawyer." The books initially being incorporated into this update include: "Civil Law Lectures" (by Kim Jun-ho), "Debtor Rehabilitation Act" (by Jeon Dae-gyu), "General and Specific Principles of Criminal Law" (by Shin Dong-woon), "Maritime Law" (by Kim In-hyeon), and "Commentary on the Serious Disaster Punishment Act" (by Kim Young-gyu). These approximately 70 books represent representative works in key legal fields.

Currently, Super Lawyer utilizes over 5 million case law data, statutes, precedents, administrative regulations, and authoritative interpretations, as well as 675 legal books published by Park Young-sa, as its citation source. Adding Beopmunsa's book data to this collection is expected to significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of AI responses.

Kim Bon-hwan, CEO of Law & Company, stated, "Securing high-quality legal data is a key factor in determining the performance of AI legal services. This collaboration will allow us to secure highly reliable legal content, further enhancing the quality of Super Lawyer's responses." He added, "Leveraging Law & Company's unique data assets, we will focus on enhancing our AI services and further enhance accessibility to the law."

Bae Hyo-seon, CEO of Beopmunsa, said, “The legal content accumulated over decades will be combined with Law & Company’s AI technology to provide new value to more lawyers and users,” and added, “We will expand the scope of social utilization of legal content in line with the changes in the AI era.”
