Energy and climate tech company Enlighten (CEO Youngho Lee) announced on the 4th that it has signed a direct power purchase agreement (PPA) with a major domestic manufacturing company to supply solar renewable energy.
Under this contract, Enlighten will supply 4.2MW of renewable solar energy for 20 years, starting in the first half of 2026. Direct PPAs, where companies procure electricity by directly contracting with renewable energy power suppliers, are increasingly attracting participation from manufacturing companies amidst the trend toward strengthened environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management.
Enlighten operates a renewable energy supply model optimized for corporate demand based on its platform, "Power Generation King." Power Generation King manages approximately 29,600 power plants nationwide. Through data analysis, it selects power plants that best meet corporate electricity demand characteristics, providing a supply system that ensures both stability and economic viability.
Power King is also digitizing the renewable energy transaction process, including power generation forecasting, settlement, and transaction matching. It is also analyzing power generation and weather data at each power plant to improve supply efficiency. Going forward, it plans to further enhance its digital management system, including AI-based power plant matching capabilities.
“Participation from companies and power generation operators seeking to introduce renewable energy is expanding,” said Lee Young-ho, CEO of Enlighten. “Enlighten will continue to expand the PPA model and strengthen its technological and operational capabilities to support companies’ stable introduction of renewable energy.”
