Krafton Appoints Park Jae-cheol as Chief Strategy Officer

Krafton Co., Ltd. (CEO Chang-Han Kim) appointed Jae-Cheol Park as Chief Safety Officer (CSMO).

This personnel change is a measure to establish an advanced safety management system and proactively manage safety risks that may arise during the relocation of the Seongsu Cluster and operations of key businesses, including esports.

Park Jae-cheol, Chief Safety Officer (CSMO), has approximately 20 years of experience in safety and environmental management at Samsung affiliates and has overseen industrial safety and environmental management at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and Mirae Asset Global Investments. He is responsible for establishing Krafton's company-wide safety management strategy and overseeing the proactive safety management system for key business areas, including the relocation of the Seongsu Cluster and esports.

With this appointment, Krafton plans to strengthen safety standards across all stages, from business planning to operations, and introduce a system that allows for immediate suspension of operations if risks are identified. For large-scale offline events, a standardized process will be implemented, encompassing pre-risk assessments, on-site inspections, and post-event evaluations.

Through this measure, Krafton will establish governance to proactively manage risks at each business stage and continuously strengthen the safety management level across the organization to meet global standards.

Park Jae-cheol, CSMO, said, “We sympathize with Krafton’s safety management philosophy of going beyond compliance with regulations and internalizing safety from the planning stage,” and added, “We will establish a sustainable safety management foundation across all of the company’s major projects.”
