New Paradigm Investment (Co-CEOs Sang-Seung Bae and Jae-Hyeon Park) announced on the 3rd that it had made a pre-A round investment in V Lab Corporation (CEO Joo-Hyeon Eom), an AI-based rehabilitation Pilates platform company.
V-LAB Corporation is a fitness tech startup that operates "V-LAB PILATES," a rehabilitation Pilates center focused on physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists, and "Variation," a recruiting and job search platform based on AI-based class design and instruction for instructors. With an integrated offline and online structure, education and recruitment, V-LAB Corporation aims to address the Pilates industry's expertise gap and advance into the global market with its AI-driven K-Pilates model.
V Lab Corporation's AI platform, "Variation," allows instructors to input equipment type, member difficulty, and class flow. The AI, trained on a database of over 3,000 Pilates movements, automatically generates the optimal sequence within 10 seconds. This reduces instructor preparation time and standardizes class quality.
Furthermore, by introducing a map-based instructor recruitment system, the platform improved upon the inefficient recruitment and job search structure that relied heavily on blogs and open chats. The platform supplies professional instructors to Vlab's directly operated centers and surpassed 9,000 instructor subscribers within eight months of its launch.
Park Jae-hyun, co-CEO of New Paradigm Investment, stated, "The domestic Pilates market has grown to approximately 1 trillion won, with approximately 40,000 active instructors. The demand for rehabilitation exercises is simultaneously expanding due to a lack of expertise in the Pilates industry and a rise in musculoskeletal disorders. V-Lab Corporation is addressing these market challenges with AI technology, and therefore holds significant growth potential."
V-Lab Pilates offers a curriculum focused on pain management and body correction, led by a team of rehabilitation specialists. Furthermore, the studio holds instructor workshops at least twice a month and strengthens its expertise through partnerships with the Korean Physical Therapy Association and the Athletes' Village Hospital.
Building on its domestic operating model, V Lab Corporation is also actively expanding into the global market. Its local expansion will begin with a professional training program in Shanghai, China, in November. It plans to advance into the Chinese and Asian markets with its "K-Pilates" brand.
“With this investment, we will grow beyond Korea’s leading rehabilitation Pilates company into a global wellness platform,” said Eom Ju-hyun, CEO of V Lab Corporation. “We will accelerate the overseas expansion of AI-based K-Pilates.”
