Mobawheel Signs Business Agreement with SWM

The Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Daehee Park, hereinafter referred to as the Daejeon Innovation Center) announced on the 29th that the childcare company Mobawheel Co., Ltd. (CEO Minhyun Kim) signed a business agreement (MOU) with autonomous driving mobility specialist SWM on October 20th for cooperation in robotaxi services and road detection technology.

This agreement is a demonstration project for the commercialization of Mobawheel's vehicle AI sensor 'EG-Way Model V'. The main goal is to install the sensor in robotaxis operated by SWM to collect and analyze road surface data and generate driving assistance data to improve the stability of autonomous driving through artificial intelligence (AI) models.

The EG-Way Model V is a mobile AI detection system that is an advanced version of Mobawheel's fixed sensor, the EG-Way, for vehicles. This sensor detects various road conditions in real time while the vehicle is driving, and by detecting road conditions up to 100 times per second, it can capture transparent and subtle changes in the road surface, such as black ice, ice, and water curtains, that are difficult to detect with cameras or LiDAR.

Kim Min-hyun, CEO of Mobawheel, said, “This collaboration is an important step in verifying vehicle sensors in actual road environments, and it brings us one step closer to commercialization.” He added, “Sound wave-based AI sensor technology will enhance the safety of autonomous driving and become a core infrastructure in the next-generation physical AI era.”

Park Dae-hee, CEO of the Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center, said, “We will continue to provide support to help technology-based startups like Mobawheel grow.”
