Daesang ST Co., Ltd. announced that it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's Award at the '2025 Materials, Components and Equipment Industry Development Award Ceremony' held at KINTEX in Ilsan on October 29.
This award, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is presented to organizations and individuals who have contributed to strengthening industrial competitiveness in the materials, parts and equipment (SME) industry through technological development, commercialization, investment and job creation, and export expansion.
Daesang ST was recognized for developing electromagnetic shielding film technology that combines an insulating layer with a conductive adhesive, resolving short-circuit issues in existing electrical circuits, and successfully applying this technology to smartphone mass production. This technology contributed to the domestic production and stable supply of electromagnetic shielding film, and was positively evaluated for strengthening the foundation for self-reliance in the small and medium-sized equipment industry.
Electromagnetic shielding films are a key material for suppressing electromagnetic interference (EMI) in smartphones, laptops, and automotive electronics. They are known to be a complex technology, with thinner films becoming more difficult to maintain performance. Daesang ST's product is characterized by its ability to reduce thickness by more than 20% compared to conventional films while simultaneously maintaining high adhesive strength, shielding power, and insulation.
CEO Sangyong Eom said, “Our products are widely used in products of global companies because they have secured both quality and price competitiveness,” and added, “We will continue to dedicate ourselves to technology development and quality control that meet customer needs.”
