Global engineering simulation company ANSYS Korea (CEO Park Ju-il) announced on October 23rd that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanwha Aerospace Co., Ltd. at the Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2025) to strengthen domestic aircraft engine development capabilities and foster an innovation ecosystem based on digital engineering.
This agreement is part of a collaboration to digitally transform the entire process from design to verification and operation by combining ANSYS Korea's simulation technology and digital engineering capabilities with Hanwha Aerospace's next-generation aircraft engine development project.
The two companies plan to pursue ▲joint technological cooperation based on ANSYS' advanced simulation technology and technical support ▲establishment of investment and cooperation infrastructure by Hanwha Aerospace ▲mutual cooperation in the field of Digital Mission Engineering (DME).
DME is a next-generation engineering approach that allows for comprehensive analysis of system-level performance by implementing real-world operating environments in a virtual space. This enables "digital twin" simulations that reflect realistic factors such as flight trajectories, atmospheric conditions, and mission environments. Through this approach, Hanwha Aerospace can reduce development risks and shorten test cycles, thereby reducing development costs and improving quality.
Through this agreement, ANSYS Korea will provide simulation technology covering all stages, from engine design to mission execution. Through DME-based integrated analysis, ANSYS aims to enhance development efficiency and reliability while contributing to the advancement of the domestic digital engineering ecosystem. Furthermore, the company plans to expand its collaboration with domestic aerospace and defense companies to strengthen the global competitiveness of aerospace technology.
“This collaboration is a significant step forward in accelerating the digital transformation of the Korean aerospace industry,” said Park Ju-il, CEO of ANSYS Korea. “We expect that ANSYS’ simulation and digital mission engineering capabilities will enable Hanwha Aerospace to take its entire engine development process to the next level.”
