Bitsensing, a radar-based advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology company, announced on the 17th that it will begin a full-scale ADAS demonstration project for commercial vehicles together with Gyeongbuk Express and Jinan Express, affiliates of transportation specialist Korea Wide.
This demonstration project aims to verify the technology's performance in real-world road conditions by installing Bitsensing's ADAS kit on express, intercity, and city buses. Following the demonstration, plans are under consideration to expand the system's application to over 500 vehicles.
Bitsensing's ADAS Kit, based on radar, cameras, and integrated sensor modules, provides a comprehensive suite of features, including Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Blind Spot Detection (BSIS). Designed for the unique characteristics of large vehicles, the system maintains stable recognition performance and response speed even in complex urban driving and repetitive stop-and-go situations.
The demonstration will be conducted on actual routes, including downtown Daegu, and based on operational data, detection accuracy, system response speed, and driver convenience will be verified. Bitsensing plans to utilize this data to refine its algorithms for commercial vehicles and expand its product application to trucks and other applications in the future.
Korea Wide is a transportation group operating various forms of public transportation services in major cities across the country. Building on over 40 years of operational experience, the company is promoting a shift to eco-friendly mobility and the introduction of a digital-based operation management system.
Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to secure verification data on ADAS technology for commercial vehicles and jointly utilize it to drive digital transformation in the bus industry and improve traffic safety in the future.
