The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KTFC) (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Wednesday the 15th that it had signed a “Local Revitalization Mutual Growth Sisterhood Agreement for Domestic Economic Recovery and Regional Vitality Enhancement” with the Jung-gu Office in Busan (Head Choi Jin-bong, hereinafter referred to as “Jung-gu Office”).
This agreement was established to promote regional economic recovery by linking the social contribution capabilities and regional networks of both organizations and to jointly pursue various mutually beneficial cooperation projects utilizing traditional markets, specialty products, and tourism resources.
According to the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in various fields, including ▲relationship building programs (organizational culture events, regional headquarters workshops, etc.), ▲regional promotion and tourism revitalization (introducing tourist attractions and restaurants through company magazine coverage), ▲promoting consumption by expanding sales channels (promotion and purchase of local specialties), and ▲revitalizing traditional markets (children's traditional market shopping experience events).
In particular, this sister city relationship is being evaluated as a practical example of a model of mutually beneficial cooperation between public institutions and local governments in a downtown area struggling with population decline and aging. Furthermore, synergy effects are expected through linking with local issues, such as the relocation of the Jung-gu Office and the construction of a multi-purpose cultural and sports center.
Kibo Executive Director Park Joo-sun said, “Jung-gu, Busan is a region where history and culture come together, including Gukje Market and Yongdusan Park. This agreement will provide an opportunity to widely promote local traditional markets, specialties, and tourist attractions.” He added, “As a public institution rooted in the region, Kibo will continue to strengthen cooperation with local governments and actively contribute to revitalizing the local economy and realizing social value.”
Meanwhile, Kibo celebrated the Chuseok holiday by volunteering at the Busan Gamman Community Welfare Center to provide free meals and distribute gift packages. Kibo also worked to stimulate local consumption through activities such as a children's grocery shopping experience and employee consumption promotion events. Kibo plans to continue pursuing various social contribution activities that foster mutual growth with the local community.
