MayI selected as a "Scale-Up Tip" by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

AI-based video analysis startup Mayi Co., Ltd. (CEO Chan-gyu Kim) announced on the 13th that it was finally selected for the ‘Scale-up TIPS’ technology startup support program hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Scaleup Tips is a government-private partnership program that discovers startups with technological prowess and growth potential and supports their growth into unicorn companies. With this selection, Mayi will receive a total of 1.2 billion won in research and development (R&D) funding over the next three years.

Mayi was selected for this program in recognition of the technological sophistication and global market expansion potential of its AI solution, "mAsh," which precisely analyzes in-store customer behavior. The selection and agreement were finalized in September, marking another milestone achieved approximately two months after its selection for "Post Tips" in July.

Mesh is a solution that utilizes deep learning analysis technology based on CCTV footage to track and analyze visitor movement, dwell time, zone-specific responses, and interactions between employees and customers. It is being used to improve customer experience, develop marketing strategies, and optimize store operations. Currently, it is being commercialized by major companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Coway, and SPAO.

In terms of technological competitiveness, MayI has also had its paper accepted at 'ICLR 2025' this year, and has been selected as one of the rare domestic companies to participate in 'Battlefield 200', a startup pitching stage at 'TechCrunch Disrupt' to be held in the US in October, and is continuing to achieve results on the global stage.

Additionally, it is designed to utilize real-time edge computing technology to prevent video data from being transmitted externally, meeting international privacy standards such as the EU's GDPR and AI Act, and is being expanded to overseas stores of domestic companies in countries such as the US, UK, and Vietnam.

Based on the funds secured through this selection, MayI plans to fully engage in the advancement of its core technologies and expansion of its global business.

Kim Chan-gyu, CEO of May-I, said, “Being selected for major government support programs in two consecutive months is a recognition of both our technological prowess and marketability,” and added, “We will continue to grow into a company that generates tangible results in the retail technology market.”
