The Seoul Women's and Family Foundation (CEO Park Jeong-sook) announced that it will host the "Seoul Women and Family 2025 Pink Run" marathon on October 12th at Seoul World Cup Park, in collaboration with the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation. The event will run from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Pink Run, an event that has been held since 2001 to provide information on breast health and raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer self-examination and early detection, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. This year, the Seoul Foundation for Women and Family participated, creating a platform to promote a culture of gender equality that encompasses the health, safety, and employment issues of women and families.
The Seoul Foundation for Women and Family signed an agreement with the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation in January of this year to promote women's health rights. They have continued their work to promote women's health, including holding a joint special lecture on March 8th, International Women's Day. This collaboration is significant in that it contributes to raising public awareness by incorporating a gender-sensitive perspective into women's health issues, including breast cancer.
The event will also feature hands-on programs for citizens to participate in. Various activities will take place at booths centered around three themes: "Women's Health, Safety, and Jobs." At the women's health booth, Korean medicine doctors affiliated with the Korean Women's Association will provide one-on-one health consultations and share health information through true or false quizzes.
The Safety Booth, in collaboration with the Seoul Digital Sex Crime Safety Support Center, will host an interactive program focused on digital sex crime prevention. Additionally, the Seoul Women's Development Institute's "Job Burreung" bus will participate, providing practical support for job seekers and those preparing for a career change, including job information, AI mock interviews, and ID photo shoots.
Park Jeong-sook, CEO of the Seoul Women and Family Foundation, said, “I hope that the marathon event will not only be about running, but also become an opportunity for citizens to enjoyably obtain information about health, safety, and the future.” She added, “We will continue to expand policies closely related to daily life and field-centered activities for women and families in Seoul.”
