Nanum Vitamin Wins Grand Prize in the Startup Category at the 9th Social Venture Innovation Competition

Nanum Vitamin Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Ha-yeon), a social enterprise promoting digital transformation in the child meal welfare sector, announced that it won the grand prize in the Startup category at the 9th Social Venture Innovation Competition hosted by Seongdong-gu. This competition attracted 123 companies from across the country, and Nanum Vitamin was recognized for its innovation and social impact through its community-based digital sharing platform, "Naviyam."

Nanum Vitamin was founded to address the stigma and lack of access to school meals for approximately 270,000 children nationwide at risk of starvation through digital technology. Existing child meal cards have limited usability, with only 41.7% of their use occurring at convenience stores, making it difficult for children to access a balanced diet.

Accordingly, Nanum Vitamin developed the "Nabiyam" platform, which converts corporate and individual donations into online meal vouchers, allowing children to freely dine at regular restaurants. Through this platform, children can choose their desired menu from local "Good Stores" and small business franchisees can expect increased sales, creating a win-win model.

In just two years since its launch, Nanum Vitamin has secured a nationwide network of over 60,000 Good Stores and surpassed KRW 1 billion in cumulative distribution. To date, over 200,000 meals have been provided to over 30,000 children. Starting in 2025, a mobile payment service linking the child meal card will be officially launched in Wonju, Gangwon Province, and Incheon Metropolitan City.

Nanum Vitamin uses an AI-based data system to match donors with child beneficiaries on a one-to-one basis. It also analyzes beneficiaries' health data to suggest customized nutritional diets. Donation usage details are automatically recorded, and local governments and donors can transparently monitor project status through a real-time dashboard.

This system is being evaluated as contributing to improving the operational efficiency of social contribution projects while also enhancing the transparency of welfare budget execution. In terms of social performance measurement, Nanum Vitamin was found to have generated social benefits worth hundreds of millions of won.

CEO Kim Ha-yeon said, “This award is a positive social evaluation of our technology-based social problem-solving model,” and added, “We will continue to reduce blind spots in welfare through technology and lead the digital transformation of social welfare.”
