Decamp to Host "Startup OI Tokyo #Entertainment"

On the 11th, startup support organization Decamp (CEO Park Young-hoon) hosted the open innovation program "Decamp Startup OI Tokyo #Entertainment" in Tokyo, Japan, in collaboration with major Japanese corporate venture capital (CVC) firms. This program was the second collaborative event jointly planned by Decamp and TBS Innovation Partners (TBS-IP), and six leading CVCs in the Japanese entertainment industry participated.

Participating companies include TBS-IP, Bandai Namco 021 Fund, Sega Sammy Holdings, Shochiku Ventures, NTT Docomo Ventures, and Styling Life Holdings. Through this program, Decamp helped Korean startups explore collaboration opportunities with major Japanese companies and develop business models tailored to the local market.

The six selected Korean startups underwent approximately two months of mentoring from TBS-IP and related experts, and then prepared new business proposals targeting the Japanese market. Through the Open Innovation Program, these startups met directly with Japanese companies to discuss potential collaborations.

The startups participating in this program are as follows: ▲Take One Company, a company that has been producing games based on K-pop IP, has recently expanded its business into media mixed content such as dramas and movies. ▲Slash B Slash is an IP tech company targeting the MZ generation that produces emotional accessories using character IP. ▲Anipen is developing an XR content platform utilizing generative AI and is preparing to launch the AI-based platform 'loomloom' globally. ▲Be My Friends operates the fandom business platform 'b.stage' and provides IT infrastructure and consulting services based on global fandoms. ▲Bulsework is an interactive content production studio focusing on UGC-based games such as Roblox and Fortnite, with experience in producing original videos and game content. ▲Inedit operates the content marketing platform 'Branderzine' and conducts brand campaigns through a network of approximately 7,000 creators, mainly in Korea and Japan.

Through three Japan Open Innovation programs, including this Tokyo program, Decamp has helped a total of 22 startups connect directly with major Japanese companies. For some startups, collaboration discussions are reportedly progressing to actual commercialization.

Next year, Decamp plans to continue its open innovation program in collaboration with Japanese companies across various industries, including TBS-IP, and through this, actively support domestic startups' entry into the Japanese and global markets.
