Jungwoo Maru Co., Ltd. (CEO Choi Eui-soon), a company specializing in structured synthetic data, announced on the 30th that it has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EG Asset Valuation Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Hyeon-gyu), a specialized asset valuation firm, to advance AI-based asset valuation. Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to establish a next-generation valuation system that boasts precision, consistency, and auditability, thereby enhancing the reliability of asset valuations in the bond and alternative investment sectors.
This agreement focuses on combining EG Asset Valuation's asset valuation platform and AI analysis capabilities with Jungwoo Maru's privacy-preserving structured synthetic data generation technology. Specifically, the goal is to address the frequently raised issues of sensitive information handling and training data shortages in the financial sector, thereby simultaneously improving AI model performance and ensuring verifiability.
By applying Jungwoo Maru's synthetic data technology to EG Asset Valuation's 'EG Asset Pricing & Data Platform' and its own risk management solution 'AIRiS', it is expected that the quality and privacy protection level of data for AI model learning and internal verification will be improved.
Furthermore, in areas requiring advanced data validation, such as financial institutions' core system migrations, internal model validation, fraud detection systems (FDS), and risk modeling, we plan to establish a system that utilizes synthetic data to enable large-scale testing without exposing personal information. Furthermore, we plan to clearly define governance across the entire data lifecycle, including data usage, storage, and disposal, and strengthen the log management system to ensure audit traceability in preparation for external audits.
EG Asset Valuation, a specialized asset valuation firm founded in 2020, has grown in response to changes in the financial environment, including the adoption of IFRS 17 and the expansion of alternative assets. Its clientele includes major financial institutions such as Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Hanwha Life Insurance, and Korea Investment & Securities. Recently, it has expanded its business into risk management through its AIRiS solution.
Based on structured synthetic data generation technology, Jeongwoo Maru provides alternative data for sensitive information in the financial, medical, and public sectors. Furthermore, it is developing its own data engine that can be used for various purposes, including AI learning, simulation, and internal verification, thereby enhancing data usability and security.
EG Asset Valuation CEO Lee Hyeon-gyu stated, “Asset valuation is a field that simultaneously requires fairness, regulatory compliance, and data security,” and added, “Through this collaboration, we will be able to build a more sophisticated valuation system and further strengthen our clients’ risk management capabilities.”
Jeongwoo Maru CEO Choi Ui-sun said, “Our collaboration with EG Asset Valuation is an opportunity to verify the industrial applicability and effectiveness of our technology. Through our collaboration, we will enhance the efficiency of data utilization in the financial sector and contribute to establishing a global-level data evaluation system.”
